Pitmen 'two' good for Tiverton
The Pitmen were back down in the South West of the country for the second consecutive week and were hoping to collect another three points, with Bernie McNally having the luxury of naming an unchanged side.
Hednesford were immediately on the offensive and in the 4th minute Ross Dyer, through on goal, was denied by a point blank save from Steve Book in the Tiverton goal.
Cheyenne Dunkley was unfortunate to pick up a yellow card in the 9th for his first tackle in midfield but it was undeniably late by the impressive Crewe Alexandra youngster, now playing the anchor role in midfield.

The visitors continued to take the game to Tiverton and the game exploded into life in the 21st minute, when Elliott Durrell was through into a great goalscoring position only to be taken down from behind for a penalty kick. The tackle looked a stone wall red card offence but match referee Mr Will Bull, after a long consultation with his assistant, did not even award a caution.
The long delay of the penalty kick seemed to affect the normally assured Sean Platt and his spot kick was too near to the goalkeeper, who saved with ease.
Elliott Durrell continued to terrorise the home defence with surging runs from midfield and some clever free kicks, then, in the 37th minute he found space in the box after an excellent piece of work by Josh Craddock and Durrell finished coolly with his left foot.
Half time: 0-1
The Pitmen started the second half in equally pugnacious mood and a fierce shot from Dunkley was again saved by Book in the home goal.
Aaron Gibson was in action in the 53rd minute with a great run, beating the full back and a fine cross to the far post. When the ball was headed back across goal Ross Dyer should have done b
The home side made a couple of substitutions in the 69th minute, bringing on Adam Mortimer and Richard Pears and for a 10 minute spell enjoyed their best possession of the game. However, in the 79th minute a quick break away by the visitors saw the irrepressible Durrell draw the goalkeeper and then lay on a simple goal for Ross Dyer to finish off the match.
As the game restarted, injuries to both Decio Gomes and Elliott Durrell required McNally to bring substitutes Sam Adkins and Dorryl Proffitt into the game. The injury to Durrell looked potentially more serious when the stretcher was called and a precautionary splint was put on his leg but thankfully this later proved to be unnecessary.
This was another fine win on the road by the Pitmen and endorsed the progress that the team has made in the last few weeks under Bernie McNally and Delwyn Humphreys. The hectic schedule of matches continues with a home game at Keys Park against Stourbridge FC on Tuesday 23rd February, 7.45pm kick off.
