With the games coming thick and fast, manager Paul Casey made the decision to rest a few players for the visit to his former club Boldmere St Michaels. His squad, once again boosted by the inclusion of first teamer, Ben Bailey, included 5 of the current Under 16 team and new signing, Tyrone Borland.
The young Pitmen were first to come close when Adam Meacham made a good run to the near post to meet a Tyrone Borland cross but could only direct his first time shot over the crossbar.

The home side were using ‘route 1' tactics and in the 13th minute some static defending allowed the home side to take the lead with a shot into the roof of the net from 8 yards.

The young Pitmen were looking somewhat lethargic, with little movement through midfield but in the 31stminute some good work from Under 16 winger, Daniel Scragg, gave JACK HEPPLE the opportunity for a fine equalising goal.
As the first half drew to a close, Hednesford forced a free kick and the curling cross saw Mark Bandurak head past the post when a goal looked the more likely outcome.

On 45 minutes, Jack Hepple, held the ball up well and put Adam Meacham through on goal but his shot lacked power and was easily saved by the goalkeeper.

It was an angry dressing room at half time with some serious questions asked about the attitude of some of the players. Oliver Casey and Joshua Allen-Noble were immediately brought in for the restart.

Allen-Noble, another of Ross Thorpe's excellent Under 16 team, had impressed greatly in the recent game at Nuneaton Town and he was immediately in the thick of it with his high energy style.

Oliver Casey came close on 49 minutes but his fine control was let down by a rather weak shot past the post.

On 63 minutes Danny Scragg made a very good tackle and was as amazed as everyone else in the ground when the referee gave him a yellow card. Four minutes later though the youngster was rewarded for his endeavour when a long range shot from Ben Bailey was not held by the goalkeeper and DANIEL SCRAGG was on hand to knock in the rebound.

The home side were now beginning to tire badly and in the 70th minute a great run and cross from the left by Jamey Osborne was clinically finished by OLIVER CASEY.

A similar run and cross down the right side by another Under 16 debutant, Tom O'Sullivan, was also finished with a flourish by OLIVER CASEY underlining his excellent form of recent weeks.

The tireless work of Allen-Noble in midfield had completely changed the game and as full time approached, fellow midfielder MARK BANDURAK capped some fine solo play with a great finish.

Final word should go to goalkeeper Dale Faultless who in the last minute denied a certain goal with a first class point blank save
