After numerous attempts by Bernard McNally to contact the player over the past couple of weeks, we were advised yesterday evening that Ross Dyer has signed for Forest Green Rovers FC.

Ross is the only player to have played for Hednesford Town FC at every age group from Under 9 to First Team and has been a player for this club for 14 years, being a prolific goalscorer at every level and captaining the first team for much of last season. We wish Ross well at his new club where he will team up with another former Pitman, Reece Styche.

It will now be up to FGR and Hednesford Town FC to try and reach an agreement on a compensation payment, however, when FGR made an approach for the player in the second half of last season their offer fell well short of our valuation of the player and there is every likelihood that this will need to be referred to an FA Tribunal for resolution.

With the loss of both Tyrone Barnett and Ross Dyer the prime focus of Bernard McNally will be to secure the services of a proven striker to join new signing Craig Marshall at Keys Park for the new campaign.
