Sam Adkins

After a successful loan spell at Keys Park, Walsall FC youngster, Sam Adkins, has been recalled to Bescot Stadium with immediate effect, to cover for injuries to current first team midfield players. We would wish to put on record our thanks to Walsall FC for sanctioning the loan of the player and we would like to wish Sam all the best for his future. Bernard McNally has today secured the signature of another fine defensive prospect, former Coventry City reserve player, Liam Francis. This excellent 20 year old defender has been playing this season at Redditch United FC and will prove to be a great signing for the Pitmen.

Liam will bring another dimension to the Hednesford attack as he is a serious aerial threat from set pieces being Redditch United FC's current top scorer with 8 goals. We would all like to welcome Liam to Keys Park and wish him great success for the future

Ross to stay at Keys Park
Monday, 08 February 2010 15:19

Hednesford Town's 'in demand' striker, Ross Dyer, has given Bernie McNally some great news today, pledging his immediate future to The Pitmen, after a week of intense negotiations.

An offer from a Conference North club  was received last week which was closer to the valuation that we have for the player. As a consequence, Ross was allowed to speak with the club and discuss their interest. After much consideration Ross has decided to stay with his home town club, which will be a massive boost for Bernie McNally as he continues to build his team for the remainder of this season.

Ross, who was presented with a memento of 200 first team appearances before Saturday's match, is currently Hednesford Town FC's longest serving player and is still only 21. McNally will be hoping that Ross can now put this unsettling period behind him and get back to scoring the goals which have made him such a sought after player.

On another note, the club have today extended the loan signing of Walsall FC midfielder, Sam Adkins, for a further month. Sam was credited with the injury time equalising goal against Halesowen Town FC on Saturday.

Josh Craddock joins The Pitmen
Sunday, 07 February 2010 10:02

Yesterday the club completed the transfer of highly rated striker/midfielder Josh Craddock from Halesowen Town FC. Josh was a former first year professional at Walsall FC and decided to leave the professional game to pursue a University education. He is now keen to forge a successful career in the part-time, non-League game.

Josh's profile can be seen by clicking here

Josh is a quick and clinical striker and can also play in a number of midfield roles.

Club reject offer for Ross Dyer
Thursday, 28 January 2010 12:19
The club have today rejected a revised offer from a Conference club for skipper, Ross Dyer. An initial offer was rejected by the club at the beginning of the week and the interested party came back with an improved offer today. Unfortunately the offer fell well short of the valuation that the club put on their goalscoring captain and this was also rejected.

Proffitt signs for the Pitmen
Thursday, 28 January 2010 11:46

The club have today completed the signing of Dorryl Proffitt from Buxton FC. The 24 year old striker came through the ranks at Manchester City  before having spells at Coventry City  and Millwall. he has also played in the non-league for Crawley Town, Halifax Town, Leek Town, Witton Albion and Stafford Rangers.

Dorryl has represented England at all levels up to Under 20, and can also play wide on either the left or right in addition to his preferred striking role. He will be a valuable addition to Bernie McNally's squad.

Bernie secures signature of Decio Gomes
Wednesday, 27 January 2010 09:08

Bernie McNally set about the task in hand yesterday, securing the signature of talismanic defender Decio Gomes. The Portuguese defender, who was instrumental in the early season form which took the Pitmen to the top of the Unibond League last season, is now fully recovered from his knee injury sustained at the end of last season and will be a welcome addition to the squad.

Decio will not be available for tonight's game against Port Vale FC but will be in the squad for the away trip to Swindon Supermarine FC on Saturday.

It is envisaged that Decio will be the first of a number of player targets that McNally will be bringing to the club in order to mount a challenge for a play off place.

New management team unveiled
Monday, 25 January 2010 23:19

Bernard McNally was tonight appointed as the new first team manager/coach and caretaker manager Delwyn Humphreys has been asked to stay on as Assistant Manager, as the club look to get back on track after the recent resignation of Simon Line.

Bernard was tonight reunited with the players that he worked with in his caretaker spell earlier in the season and the new management team will take the helm for the Staffordshire FA Senior Challenge Cup Quarter Final against Port Vale FC on Wednesday evening.

Club Statement
Monday, 18 January 2010 19:30
Simon Line telephoned the Chairman last Thursday afternoon to say that due to personal reasons, family commitments and pressure of work he wished to resign with immediate effect.  Delwyn Humphreys and Tom Holroyd took training last Thursday and have agreed to handle team affairs in the interim.  We are now obviously going through the process of looking for a new Manager.

It has been rumoured that the playing budget has been cut.   This is not correct and we are actively looking to strengthen the squad.   Sam Aiston has been released and Steve Jagielka is still with the club.
