As the start of the pre-season approaches Bernie McNally's squad has been boosted by the addition of 18 year old Cheyenne Dunkley who had an excellent loan spell with the Pitmen from Crewe Alexandra FC in the second half of last season. After further discussions today Cheyenne has opted to sign a contract offered by the club for the forthcoming season.

With his defensive partner Ben Bailey now back in training after his summer holiday the Hednesford Town defence is starting to take some shape.

McNally has also registered Jamey Osborne who had been one of the best Hednesford youth team players over the last couple of seasons and who was a FA County Youth Cup winner with the Birmingham County FA team that beat Kent FA in the 2008/09 season.

We have also registered two young triallists Odane Barnes and Aaron Roberts who were formerly with Bromsgrove Rovers FC.

We are happy to welcome all of these young players to Keys Park

As the pre-season training continues, Bernard McNally has selected a number of triallists and has added them to his squad for the pre-season friendlies ahead.

Two of the players have been recommended to us by coaches at RAF Cosford, striker Jonathan Watkins and defender Chris West.

McNally has also signed former Aston Villa, Hednesford Town and Tamworth striker Tyrell Simpson. Tyrell has had some setbacks through injury but is determined to work hard and get back to his best.

Another player who has impressed in training is former Boldmere St Michaels FC striker Justin Burgher whose pace could be a genuine asset.

Finally, former TNS and AFC Telford United youth teamer Sam Orbell has also put pen to paper and will hope to impress during the pre-season.

As the countdown to the kick off continues Bernard McNally is continuing to explore options of further players to strengthen the squad and it is likely that there will be some announcements over the next day or two.

As the pre-season gets underway there has been some interest in how the team for the new season is coming together, which I will try to summarise below.

With the knowledge that we were probably going to lose Tyrone Barnett and Ross Dyer to the full time game, the most pressing priority was to get some good quality strikers signed up. As there was also a question mark over whether Stuart Brock would be available for the whole of the 2010/2011 campaign, Bernard McNally moved quickly to secure the services of highly rated goalkeeper, Danny Crane, from Solihull Moors.

The striker situation was quickly solved with the signing of former Hednesford Town youth team star striker, Craig Marshall, from Sutton Coldfield Town and then fending off the interest of other clubs in one of the leagues most sought after finishers, Mark Bellingham from Leamington FC,

Bernard McNally has also re-signed Dorryl Proffitt, Josh Craddock, Aaron Gibson and Sean Platt. Ben Bailey will be signed up on his return from holiday and Stuart Brock has signed up as Player/Coach and will take his first steps into the team management side of things as Bernie's assistant.

The next recruit was midfielder David Bridgwater from Redditch United and the midfield options were added to this week with the capture of Alfie Carter from Worcester City, the impressive Jay Denny from Halesowen Town and Chris Clements the talented young midfielder that had such a good loan spell with us at the end of last season.

Bernie NcNally has also been looking at a number of 18/19 year olds leaving the Football League Academies and has signed left back Louis Keenan from Walsall FC.

We are still looking at a number of triallists and our top priority will now be to secure the services of a good quality centre back to add to this very good squad of players.

We are still trying to clarify the position of one or two of last seasons players, however, with fourteen players now registered for the new campaign the team is looking in pretty good shape.

Club Secretary

As the pre-season gets underway we are very pleased to announce that Chris Clements, who had a very successful loan spell at the end of last season from Crewe Alexandra FC, has today registered as a Pitman for the forthcoming season.

Chris will be joining Bernard McNally's squad on an initial 12 month contract and is sure to make a big impact this season.

We would all like to welcome Chris back to Keys Park

Pre-season training resumed this evening and a delighted Bernard McNally completed the signing of tough tackling midfielder Jay Denny from Zamaretto Premier League rivals, Halesowen Town FC.

Jay was at Stoke City FC for six seasons and has also been at Shrewsbury Town, Nuneaton Borough, Leamington before joining Halesowen Town in their successful campaign last season. As Jay was born in California, he has also represented the USA at a number of levels, captaining the USA Under 20 team on a couple of occasions. We all welcome Jay to the club and he will be joining on a twelve month contract.

McNally was very pleased with the teams first session tonight and will make further signings over the next few days

Aaron Gibson has today signed on for another season at Keys Park as Bernard McNally's impressive squad for the 2010-2011 season continues to take shape.

Aaron gave some impressive displays on the left hand side of the team in his debut season and will be looking to make a further impact in the forthcoming campaign.

After protracted negotiations Bernie McNally has pulled off a major coup securing the signature of former Walsall, AFC Telford United, TNS and Worcester City hit man Alfie Carter.

The 29 year old is a top quality and versatile player who can play as a striker, left winger and even put in a series of man of the match performances as left back for Worcester City last season. McNally  is delighted to be working with Alfie again as he was one of the stars off his AFC Telford United league winning side.

There was significant interest from other clubs but Bernie stuck to the task in hand and Carter will be joining the club on a one year contract

Discussions are continuing and we are hopeful of making another major signing over the course of the next few days.

Louis Keenan

Bernard McNally has today signed 18 year old left back Louis Keenan from Walsall FC. Louis had formerly been with Stoke City and Nottingham Forest before joining the Walsall FC Academy.

The young left back was very prominent in the trials that Bernard McNally held at RAF Cosford yesterday along with a number of other good prospects that took the manager's eye.

We would all wish to welcome Louis to Hednesford Town football club where he will be joining on a one year contract.

McNally is still in discussion with a number of senior players that we would wish to bring to the club and we will be making further announcements over the next few days

Bernard McNally has today signed midfielder David Bridgwater who was playing for Conference North side Redditch United FC last season.

Bridgwater is an experienced 29 year old playmaker who has previously been with Aston Villa, Preston, TNS and AFC Telford United before his time at Redditch. He will be a fine addition to McNally's squad for the forthcoming campaign and will be there to supply the ammunition to the new strike partnership, Mark Bellingham and Craig Marshall.

We would all like to welcome David to Keys Park and trust that he will be a great success.

Bernard is continuing discussions with other targets and will be adding further players to improve his squad over the next few days.
